I haven’t worked out for ages, I’m completely out of shape, how do I know if I’m fit enough to do the exercises?
This is a great question but what I think you are really asking is… am I going to make a fool of myself, be smashed in my first session and hardly be able to walk the next day as a result?
Let me assure you… YOU are in good hands and have nothing to fear.
Here’s how it works with all our programs. Our experienced and qualified trainers start by assessing your fitness level to determine your fitness and weight loss goals.
We always stress the importance, if you haven’t been active for a long time, to start off slowly, that way you will become fitter without straining your body.
After your initial assessment, your personal trainer then works with you based on your current fitness level to help you safely and effectively, step-by-step make steady progress towards achieving a higher level of fitness and well-being.
How does your guarantee work?
Simple! You’re covered by my RISK FREE Money Back Guarantee.
All our programs are guaranteed to get you in the best shape of your life, or you don’t pay a cent.
If after attending at least twice a week for at least 10 weeks, you find you’re not getting the results you’re looking for, just let me know. I’ll gladly refund every dollar of your modest investment.
If you’re not happy, then nor am I… and I want you to contact me and you’ll get a prompt and courteous refund. It’s that simple.
What other benefits can I expect from your programs?
Wow, where do I start?
Here’s how, my fitness and fat loss programs will transform your life…
As your body becomes toned and tight, you’ll develop unshakeable confidence. Just watch how much you start to achieve in all areas of your life with your new found confidence and higher energy levels.
You know when you wake up in the morning and feel stiff with niggling aches and pains? Well, all these will disappear as your muscles, ligaments and spine become more flexible.
You’ll stress less because you’ll sleep better.
Feel and see your excess weight falling off you and your body becoming ripped and shredded… imagine how it feels when you get back into those skinny jeans again.
With increased circulation and a healthier digestive system, you’ll find this helps give you a glowing smoother looking skin so you look and feel much younger.
With greater flexibility and improved strength, no longer will you continue to struggle puffing and panting every time you climb up and down stairs.
Your friends and family will be envious when they see the new slim, toned confident looking you in that little black dress you used to wear that’s been stuck in the back of the wardrobe for years… and they’ll want to know your secret, how you did it?
You’ll feel as though you can do absolutely anything with your higher energy levels, power, greater stamina, better co-ordination and agility.
How long will it take for me to see results?
That depends on how motivated and committed you are to achieve your fitness and fat loss goals. The level of your motivation will hugely affect your results.
Sure every person’s body is different and responds to exercise programs differently. But when you give it your all and follow your individually tailored program and/or participate fully in your sessions, you’ll see results and you will see them happen rapidly. Just don’t get despondent if you see someone else is achieving their goals a little quicker than you.
Remember if you’re committed and give it your all, then your results are guaranteed.
Take a look at our testimonial page, you’ll see clients who have lost kilos and centimeters in just a few short weeks whilst others have taken a little longer but they all get there if they stay with it.
“I have lost 2.6% body fat, 13cm around my waist, 2.5 cms around my hips, 2.7 cms around my chest, and 4 cms off my thighs. My arms are toned and muscular and i began to see my six pack after 4 weeks and i dropped two dress sizes!”

Do I really need a personal trainer?
I always find this an interesting question.
The short answer is yes, having a personal trainer is a great way to improve your fitness and achieve your weight loss goals.
Having a personal trainer has many advantages over other programs and most people would be hard put to find any disadvantages.
Let’s take a look at some of the advantages:
What do I do to minimise any injuries?
You have less chance of sustaining injuries during workouts with a qualified and experienced personal trainer guiding you to use the correct form in your exercises.
But more importantly, your personal trainer keeps you working out at a safe level of intensity and repetitions that they have assessed as suited to your fitness level.
This helps eliminate the possibility of you getting hurt from overtraining and overstress.
How do I maintain a regular schedule?
Fact is, generally people don’t do nearly as well when working in isolation.
Rarely will a gym notice whether you turn up or not. And if the truth be known, it is easier for the gym to run with less people participating so they don’t have a vested interest in encouraging you to maintain a regular schedule.
But with a personal trainer, you are held accountable to turn up at every workout.
How do I know if I can do this on a regular basis?
Finding the motivation to get out of bed in the morning to exercise can be hard. Often it’s all too easy to find an excuse not to train even though you know you’ll feel good afterwards and that it’s the best way for you to achieve your fitness and weight loss goals.
Most people I know need help in developing the right mental attitude necessary to work out on a consistent basis to achieve their goals.
That’s why at Tighten Up we have designed a system to get and keep you motivated.
Your personal trainer is available 24/7 to answer any questions you may have, no matter how big or small.
You receive regular follow-up and reminder text messages from your personal trainer, to keep you on track. This system works exceptionally well because you can see and feel that your personal trainer actually does care about your success.
Your personal trainer is there for you every step of the way to motivate, encourage and challenge you.
How do I know if I am operating the gym equipment correctly?
Normally at a gym, an instructor will tell you how to use the machines once, but after that you’re on your own to get it right. It’s unlikely you would get ongoing assistance in working out the finer points of using the equipment or doing a new exercise.
Whereas your personal trainer is there to help you and make sure your form is correct when operating the equipment so you get maximum results…
And to answer any questions you may have about your fitness and nutritional regime. They are there to take you on a journey of discovery.
How do I know if I am on track to achieve my fitness goals?
Without a personal trainer, it is very difficult for you to judge your progress and make the appropriate adjustments to further develop your strength and fitness level.
The job of your personal trainer, after they have assessed your fitness and designed your program, is to monitor your progress to make sure you are advancing as expected.
Or better still; motivate you to make faster progress than you ever dreamed. And if not your personal trainer will immediately adjust your program accordingly.
You will achieve far greater results faster with a fully qualified and experienced personal trainer.
I am recovering from an injury that I incurred recently, is it all right for me to do the exercise.
First I have to preface my answer to this question and say, I’m not a medical doctor, so I can’t give you a diagnosis or prognosis for any physical conditions or injuries you may have. It is always recommended that you seek advice from a medical professional and get their expert advice to determine what exercise is right for your condition or injury.
Having said that, yes it may be possible for you to work out even if you have injuries as long as you start out slowly to build your strength and endurance back up.
We are experts in rehabilitation programs and will work closely with your doctor and specialists to help with your recovery. You are in safe hands.
How do I know? Because I’ve been where you are now.
At the risk of boring you to death, I’ll briefly tell you a bit about my background perhaps you can relate in part to it…
Many years ago while at work I fell from the top of some stairs, smashing directly onto the base of my spine which put me out of action for quite some time.
I spent more than 6 years on painkillers and anti-inflammatory tablets. During this time, I had put on an additional 14 kgs in weight and was really feeling the strain on my back, hips and knees.
I knew the added weight was jeopardising my recovery and I had to do something about it, fast.
In desperation I employed a personal trainer but they really didn’t understand how to train someone with my extensive injuries and suffered further injuries under their supervision.
To cut a long story short, it was then that I decided to take my rehabilitation into my own hands and trained to be a personal trainer.
Now 8 years later I am Diploma qualified and registered with Fitness Australia. I specialise in fat loss, rehabilitation and prevention…and have never looked back since.
I now work with doctors and osteopaths and their patients in rehabilitation, prevention and weight loss to aid their recovery.
Now you know I’m the real deal when I talk to you about how to get fit safely and efficiently and lose body fat fast… because I’ve been there.
When you work with our personal trainers we will design a tailored program starting with simple warm ups leading into a low intensity program which will be closely monitored and adjusted to suit your level of progress so you have nothing to worry about.
What type of qualifications do you have?
The fitness business is a highly governed and regulated industry that has set the bar high with mandatory minimum qualifications required by all personal trainers and obligatory ongoing yearly training in order to maintain certification.
All personal trainers at Tighten Up are officially registered with the appropriate governing industry bodies, Fitness Australia or Kinect.
Here’s the thing, not only do all our personal trainers hold the minimum certification, that’s a given, but they have also undergone extensive additional training and hold further qualifications in their particular area of specialization.
So you can be confident in the knowledge that your personal trainer is a highly experienced, qualified professional with cutting edge knowledge in the strategies and methods to help you get fit and have that slim, toned body you deserve, fast.
And remember, you’re covered by my Risk FREE Money back Guarantee. That’s how confident we are in our ability to deliver on our promise.
I’m not sure what type of training I should do, can you tell me what do you recommend and what services do you offer?
Part of the range of services we offer is to initially assess your requirements to determine the ‘right’ exercise program to best suit your needs and goals.
Consideration is given to your availability, fitness level, preference of type of training, what fitness and weight loss goals you want to achieve. Only then do we recommend a program to achieve your goals fast.
Tighten Up fitness programs:
Our aim is to provide a holistic approach for you to achieve your goals.
We offer complete Health, Fitness and Nutrition training programs and we deliver these through
- Private one-on-one personal training
- Semi private, two-on-one
- Small group training
What is a Semi private session and will I get enough attention?
Semi Private means you share your trainer and session with another person.
Some of our clients prefer to work out with their partner or friend for extra support and to share costs, so semi private sessions suit them best.
Alternatively, if you don’t have a buddy to train with and would like to, we are able to match you up with one of our existing clients.
Regardless, all our programs are designed to specifically work for you. This keeps you motivated, holds you accountable, and keeps you on track with the expert instruction and guidance from our experienced and qualified instructors.
So whether we match you up with one of our existing clients or you train with a friend – you and your training partner are guaranteed to get results and have a fantastic session with your trainer.
Again, the training has a heavy emphasis on fat loss, weight training, functional training and building confidence to be as strong as you possibly can... As well as teaching you balance and stability to reach short term and long term goals.
All of these components are combined to provide a well balanced program for each individual. No two programs are the same for any client.
Your personal trainer will conduct an initial assessment of your fitness level and your stated goals, and then a special program is designed specifically to meet your needs and wants to achieve maximum body transformation results.
And at the risk of repeating myself… remember you are covered by my 100% Risk Free Money Back Guarantee…
“If, after attending at least twice a week for at least 10 weeks, you find you’re not getting the results you’re looking for, just let me know. I’ll gladly refund every dollar of your modest investment.” That’s how confident we are in our ability to meet our promise to you.
What is small group training and how many people are in the groups?
After much research and surveying of our clients and prospects, to find out when and what type of training they really wanted… we finally came up with the answers.
So regardless if you’re a stay-at-home mum or corporate CEO, with a goal to become toned, slim and fit… we have a program to suit you.
You get maximum results from our uniquely designed small group training sessions, as each group training program has a different style of training which has been created to match the specific requirements of particular participant groups.
Our staff at Tighten Up will assess your needs and recommend the group training program that best suits you.
To ensure maximum results, the number of participants for each group is limited depending on the activities to be performed and the type of group it is.
At present there are several groups currently available that offer different styles of training. Each Group training program is for 8 weeks and 45mins in duration.
What group programs do you offer?
Here are details of our two most popular training groups:
“Butts N Gutts” ladies only fat loss and fitness program
Who should attend?
This program is just so much fun, the theme being “Strong is Sexy”.
Our “BUTTS N GUTTS” program is designed for ladies, just like you, who want to get fit and achieve that toned and slim body… to be able to fit into those skinny jeans again, feel confident and look great from any angle.
There are a number of “Butts N Gutts” programs that run regularly, it’s that popular. The sessions run for 45min with a maximum of 6 participants only.
This program is about fat loss, strength, balance, stability and education. We teach you how to train effectively and quickly, how to lose fat by training correctly and how to eat to lose fat. No starvation or fad diets, just proper proven nutritional advice to lose weight.
You will learn proven, quick, simple yet powerful tips and strategies how to tone up and not waste time in a gym to achieve your goals.
Our next most popular small group training program is…
“SWEATBOX” group training for men and women.
This is an exciting, great high energy powerful packed group to join.
Who should attend?
“Sweatbox” small group 8 week training program has been designed for both men and women of all fitness levels, and all levels of experience.
The focus is on Boxing and High Intensity Interval Training. This combines the fast pace of boxing with the added intensity of body weight exercises.
So if you like your training fast paced and exciting with a great atmosphere then this is a great group to join. Maximum number of participants is 8.
“Sweatbox” group training program is designed to reduce body fat, lose weight, increase your strength, get fit, gain confidence and develop a lean and toned physique.
Can I do Group training if I am a beginner?
The sessions are set up in a way that challenges all levels of fitness.
We often have people who have little or no exercise experience paired up with advanced exercisers and they work out at their own pace.
You make it as intense as you want it to be under the supervision of the group trainer.
What type of clients do you work with?
The clients we typically work with are both male and female of various ages and in the prime of their lives.
But all have come to a realisation that to get the very best out of every aspect of their life, they need help to work at being fit and healthy on a consistent basis.
Why? Because they no longer want to feel fat, uncomfortable in their clothes, unfit and lacking the energy or confidence to do the things they like. They want quality of life.
Their goals range from wanting to:
- Look slim, toned and fit
- Feel good about themselves
- Work towards peak personal performance
- Improve health and fitness through a proven nutrition and fitness regime, which helps increase concentration levels and improve performance at work
- Have greater strength and higher energy levels to enjoy playing with the kids without puffing and panting
- Reduce body fat and lose weight to get back into those slim fitting jeans again and feel more confident
How many times a week do I need to train?
Your personal trainer is the best person to advise you on this when he/she creates your personal training program.
But as a rule of thumb, I recommend you get into a routine and train at least 2 or 3 times a week. But if you’re real keen, train every other day and vary the intensity.
Remember, exercise is a necessity in your life as it guarantees you a wealthy and healthy body; both physically and mentally. Enjoy!
I have been working out with weights for some time and I seem to have stopped progressing, what do I do?
I get asked this a lot. You see without a personal trainer, it is too easy to get into a training routine, including lifting weights, doing the same thing again and again, day in and day out. What happens is, your mind and body adapts to the routine very quickly and that’s when a plateau occurs.
You need to constantly challenge yourself and change the intensity of your exercises. Don’t just stick with one routine, mix up your exercises with:
- Resistance and strength training to develop lean and toned muscle boost your metabolism; it keeps you burning fat for longer even while you sleep…
- Cardiovascular training to assist with stamina, endurance and fat burning…
- Balance and stability, which is the best way to learn to use your core and how to get your six-pack back
How do I get 6-pack and lose excess weight at the same time?
You need to understand, to get maximum results, in this case, rock hard abs, you need to train smarter. What I mean by this is you need a program that will turn you into a fat burning machine. Add to that a great nutritional plan and you could have and keep that defined 6 pack your are now only dreaming of.
When you work with your personal trainer, he/she will design an exercise plan not only with specific exercises that target the abdominal muscles, but also ones that target your strength, fitness and flexibility which will help to:
- Raise your metabolism
- Increase your lean muscle and
- Help you rapidly burn through calories
You will be amazed at how quickly the excess weight will just fall off you.
The smart way to train to get that 6-pack is by utilising as many muscles as possible throughout your session. Big movements that make all your muscles work together have much greater benefits for you, you will burn more calories as well as save time. You get better results in less time
How long do I have to spend working out?
This is a personal decision as it all depends on your daily commitments and the available time you have. Everyone is different.
A lot also depends on why you are training. For instance, athletes will train for longer periods each day than someone just trying to generally keep fit.
The easiest way is to sit down with your personal trainer and discuss what you want to achieve, in other words, what’s your end goal.
Then decide in what time frame you want to achieve the desired results. That will determine how many times per week and how long you have to spend to achieve your fitness and weight loss goal.
I am not sure what time of the day I should exercise?
This is a personal decision as it all depends on your daily commitments and what time of the day you ‘operate’ best.
Some people are ‘morning’ people and prefer to work out before they go to work. Others prefer to work out later in the day.
But try not to get distracted with other things because it’s too easy to make excuses to yourself and get out of your exercise routine.
I suggest you find a time that feels right for you and then stay with it.
What’s included in your training program?
All our programs include:
- Initial consultation
- Fitness assessment

Do I have the same trainer for each session?
Yes, we find that clients get the best results when rapport is developed. We also give you the option to change trainers if you like but we’ve never had this occur.
Do you give nutritional support?
We sure do.
Exercise will help you to slim down and reshape your body by decreasing fat and increasing muscle. But exercise alone does not necessarily make you lose weight.
That’s one of the reasons at Tighten Up we place a heavy emphasis on nutrition… the foundation for health for life and the most important part of achieving the best results.
